Fight Club

My mate Leah, stylist extraordinaire, is at it again!

She and I are frequent collaborators on photography projects, incorporating sustainable fashion from her shop The Aquarium Vintage and Costume in Northcote. She has such creative flair when it comes to styling, and is an idea generating machine. The most recent idea she came to me with was a mens’ fashion editorial inspired by the film Fight Club, and I immediately was down-like-Charlie-Brown.

I had been given notice that my studio space in Kensington was being redeveloped, and as such we would all be getting kicked out of the beautiful old warehouse at an indeterminate date. I’d always wanted to do a shoot in the creepy boarded up bathroom in the building, so when the date of eviction was confirmed we had to move fast. We shot five different looks over the course of a day in several locations around the warehouse, and I see it as a bit of a farewell, or an homage to the building that I’d called home for just over 2 years.

I love these photographs. They are dark and delicious, and I thank everyone involved from the bottom of my heart.
