About Me

Hello! I’m flattered that you’re here, learning more about me.

I'm a well-rounded & energetic freelancer, creator, multitasker and project manager working primarily in the Arts in Melbourne, Australia.

I'm a fingers-in-pies kind of person, always with several projects on the go.

Photographer

I have always been a creative kid. I got my first camera at the age of 8, a flashy hot pink Concord 110. After high school, I studied at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, graduating in 2007 with a BA in Art & Design.

I have over 12 years experience as a professional photographer. Portraiture is my jam. I LOVE to photograph people and specialise in headshots & unique portraits. I regularly photograph events, and spent a good chunk of my 20s as a real estate photographer, photographing interiors. I’ve also dabbled in food and product photography and videography.

In 2013, I established a successful offshoot of my photography business known as Awkward Portraits.

I also enjoy typography and hand lettering, collage, paper crafts, print and information design.

Freelancer

Aside from being a photographer and business owner, I regularly freelance and work contract roles in the Arts sector in Melbourne. Did I mention I love people?

I really enjoy working on festivals and events in patron-facing roles as a front of house manager, venue supervisor and volunteer manager. I’ve had the pleasure of working on some pretty kick-ass Melbourne events like:

  • The Melbourne International Comedy Festival

  • The Melbourne International Film Festival

  • The Australian Open

  • The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival

  • The Melbourne Writers Festival

  • The Melbourne Magic Festival

  • The Big Vegan Market

I also have a history in the Australian music industry managing merchandise for a select roster of artists and festivals. This includes merch production and coordination, merch-specific tour logistics, merch sales at live events, and managing inventory and teams of sellers at music festivals.
